Y Sports Leagues provide an introductory, fun experience for children ages 3-18 years old. We're always in need of Volunteer Coaches to help teach sportsmanship, teamwork & specific skills to the kids! No experience necessary, we will provide you with practice plans. Volunteers must be 14 or older. We recommend that teenagers pair up with a friend to co-coach a team. We are looking for energetic volunteers to support our summer camp programming for our little ones! Opportunities are available in our Kinder Camp and Tiny Two Camp programs (9:00 AM-12:30 PM Mon-Fri) and our Extended Stay and Play program (12:00-2:00 PM Mon-Fri). Volunteers will assist teachers with setup/cleanup, engage with children during camp activities such as outdoor play, craft time, center play, and camp songs. Volunteers must be 14+. Volunteers will be trained to teach beginner-advanced level swim lessons for groups of 3-5 kids. Swim Instruction experience is preferred, but not required. Learn to Swim sessions will run 6 weeks at a time, with breaks during any school holidays. We would prefer to have volunteers commit to all 6 weeks, but this is not required. We will schedule and plan for any times when the volunteer can not attend. Lessons will take place on Tuesday and Thursday from 9:30am-12pm. Availability for both Tuesday and Thursday is preferred, but not required. Volunteers must be able to work the entire 2.5 hours on any days signed up for.

We are looking for volunteers to help our Swim Instructors teach group swim lessons! Experience with swim instruction or coaching is preferred, but not required. Training on how to conduct swim lessons will be provided to all volunteers. Volunteers will be paired with a staff swim instructor and they will work together to teach their lessons. Swim Lessons run 1 month at a time M-Th and Sat-Sun. Days and Times: M-Th 4:30-8:05pm; Sat-Sun 8am-2pm Participants sign up for M/W, T/Th, Sat, or Sun. Ideally, we would like for volunteers to commit to working M/W, T/Th, Sat, or Sun to help provide consistency for those participating in the lessons, but this is not required. Volunteers can choose to work on any combination of days that they would prefer.

Volunteer in our Child Watch program! Join us to help keep an eye on our little ones, ages 6 weeks-10 years, while their parents work out. Activities include reading books, playing games, and being a great role model. Volunteers must be ages 14+. Once you've applied, please email Drew at jacksond@ymcarichmond.org.

Leaders' Club Senior Leaders will serve as role models for our Junior Leaders' and Leaders' Club Program. This includes working with the Leaders' Club Advisor, upholding our YMCA Core Values, and modeling positive behaviors for our teens in the Leaders' Club Program.
